Photographer = Camera Expert?

Well it appears to to some people. Was presented with this the other day and asked what's it worth ? It must be rare! Having no idea I said I would look on the tinternet and let him know.
Research reveals, apart from what can be plainly read from the camera itself, it was in production from 1946 until 1957. Currently change hands for £7.00 to £24.00 on that international well known trading website ( in good condition which this is not particularly )
