Sacrifice
This poor young birch tree was growing in the wrong place and had to be sacrificed to the gods of power for the greater good. Which is a round about way of saying that it was growing into the electricity cables and the energy company asked if it could be cut down:-)
They left a bit of a mess, as you can see, but at least we can give the sawn wood to a neighbour who has a wood burning stove, so it won't have died in vain.
I had to clean my car again today, although my husband had only done it for me a couple of days ago. Such is the state of the roads at the moment during this mucky weather. Living in a semi-rural area means we have to contend with a lot of mud on the roads from tractors and other farm vehicles, but there are lots of good things to compensate for a few inconveniences! Such as watching four buzzards wheeling around in the sky being chased by crows, as I did earlier today:-) It's swings and roundabouts, wherever you live!
