French quarter, savanakhet

Hot. Humid, but mostly hot. With mosquitoes. Suddenly obvious that I've dropped to the plains and gone south...today took me by surprise and tomorrow further south...off to find some kmer ruins, eventually...

Savanakhet is hmm, calm. Quiet sleepy place of little to do other than not very much at all. I heard a saying yesterday: the burmese plant the rice, the thais harvest it and the Laos listen to it grow...seems about right..,

But other than a gentle wander and the dinosaur museum, the other museum was closed, it's a place for a brief pause to feed the mossies...
