Droplets on Hebes

Capitalising on the misty conditions today I searched out a close-up of water droplets on the fragile remaining stalks of one spent hebes flower. The bush is in full bloom currently (inset) which makes this corner of the garden really colourful. Not bad for late November!

Hebes used to be called ‘shrubby veronicas’. Veronicas (sometimes called speedwells) are herbaceous plants but are woody plants in New Zealand where they originated. There is a Hebes Society in the UK with articles on their cultivation and conservation.
