It's good to try new things...

Ferguson & I took a trip to his school Christmas Fayre this afternoon.
I had baked a cake to contribute to the bake sale. There was a competition for the best cake, not that I won, there were about a gazillion others & much more attractive than my simple Guinness chocolate one!
Anyway, as soon as we got there & Ferguson realised the goods on sale & he set about selecting little gifts for his absent "sisters" to put into the envelope he has been preparing throughout the week. I could tell he was choosing with great consideration & declared to each stall holder which sister he was buying the item for.
I was pretty touched by his selflessness since last years' attendance was a disaster with him demanding all kinds & kicking up endless fuss.
He asked for nothing for himself and was more than pleased with his purchases.
The saddleworth pie lady was ever present & I bought a slice of chicken & gammon. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever expect Ferguson to even taste it, never mind eat pretty much the entire thing!
He even ran back to her & told her it was the nicest pie he's ever tasted! (What on earth has gotten into this boy!!? - not that I am complaining...!)
He was pretty pleased with himself & said that he was glad he'd given it a go, as he never would have known how good it was, had he not.
It was a sweet couple of hours out.
