Rescue phase one complete
4 weeks ago my neighbour told me there was rabbits in the area, I dismissed it as one of his many drug fuelled ideas and went about my normal life! About a week later I saw a little grey rabbit sitting on the lawn, called a friend who is arabbit expert and we spent the whole evening trying to catch it to no avail. So we set a live trap for a week - again nothing. I nearly had it in a net on one occasion when another jumped out and spooked me!
We unset the trap as I went away to Ireland and as the rabbits hadn't been seen, we assumed the worst but certainly didn't want a hungry rabbit sitting in a trap for a week.
I came home from AK house with Angus the other evening and he spooked something with a fluffy white tail under the gate and into my garden. I knew at this point I had to catch it as the rest of the garden is meshed under fences thanks to Angus being a puppyhood escape artist!!
I finally managed to catch it with the help of some other neighbours, acquire a hutch of a relation and a trip to asda resulted in rabbit food and hay to bed him
Down!
The rspca came for it today and it turns out it was a male Netherlands dwarf cross but as I suspected he was I'm very poor condition so was off to see the vet that night! Fingers crossed for good news soon but at least he stood a chance!!
