Variations on the Greek myth of Sisyphus are the perfect symbols & motifs to illustrate biting, repetitive or endless soul destroying tasks or even life itself in some cases. There was no mention of how fast he had to work but I'm sure these days he'd have targets and Heath and Safety to add to his burden. This is one Ancient Greek vase painter's perception of the task but there are many others and there are many individual accounts from real life!
