A great discovery
No sunshine today and very light rain for the first half of the morning. But a most enjoyable and satisfying day nevertheless.
For the rainy bit we went into Keswick for coffee and an easy Telegraph cryptic in Booths cafe.
Then to the Honister slate mine. Very interesting and worth a visit. Even found a Christmas present. Several interesting photos which I thought would provide a blip. But I counted without our afternoon walk.
We thought we knew the Lake District fairly well having done 190 Wainwrights. But today we discovered the delectable walk through National Trust woods on the southern banks of Loweswater. It was a great joy and even with no sun provided many landscape pictures which will not be discarded.
