Got him! I thought I had spotted this handsome little chap hopping around the garden on Monday, but he proved too elusive to positively identify, let alone capture with the camera. This could be a candidate for Worst birdblip of the Year; it was so dull and grey today that I needed the ISO on 3200; so cold, the kitchen window stayed closed, and that slender branch on this side of my subject just had to be perfectly aligned with his eye.
Nevertheless, I am thrilled to have seen him, so I have decided to share the joy. Maybe he will stick around a little, and give me a better pose on another day.
