Tree graffiti !

Another local walk Up Clent At the beginning of our walk there is a very steep short climb from the car park up to these tree's I think they are Beech, ever since childhood the names & dates carved into them has fascinated me, the earliest of which I have found (i haven't done a detailed search !! ) is 1941. How or why it started I don't know.
