Western Garter Snake

Today I enjoyed a fine ride on my bicycle.

One of several encounters with animals along the Willamette River Trail involved a garter snake.

I noticed him up against a curb, so I stopped for a quick look.

He was unharmed and assumed a defensive posture on my approach long enough for me get my blip captured.

He was up and over the curb and on his way none the worse for my paparazzi shenanigans.
