We attended the funeral of Brad Jones today. It was held in the gardens of the home he shared with his mother in our street, and was the most beautiful funeral service I think I've ever attended.
We learned a lot about Brad, from his service as a wards person in Katoomba Hospital, to his love of music. He was apparently a great saxophonist, drummer, clarinettist, flautist, and guitarist. Not surprisingly, music loomed large in the service - everything from John Lee Hooker, to Van Morrison, Bach, and the Beatles. However most moving was this version of "I Shall be Released" by Bob Dylan, accompanied by Norah Jones. RIP Brad Jones
