Conducting?

I stopped at the little lake near my house to see what I could find to blip for today. It is very cloudy and the lake looked quiet until I saw the large group of ducks sleeping on the bank. Most of them were mallards,but there were some unusual ones. I suppose they escaped from someones farm and some of them mingled this spring with the mallards to produce the random duck of a different color.
I picked the shot of this guy because he stood up tall and looked like he was about to conduct the band of ducks. He seemed the most unusual pose. But I thought about posting a little duck who was hilarious. She would get it in her mind that she wanted to go somewhere else and she would put her head down and put it in overdrive!!! She went fast from here to there....and then to another place for no apparent reason...then she would sprint back again. No one even paid any attention to her. I guess they were used to her antics! I got a good laugh!

I went to a friend's house this afternoon for tea because a mutual acquaintance had arrived in town from Russia. She had many exciting things to share with us, but mentioned that the groceries prices were rising and that some things were becoming scarce. She was hoping things would be better when she returned home in about a month.
