Well, well, well

M got up at ridiculous o'clock this morning, to catch the train to a Management Bollix-speak conference somewhere south of the Border.
I had to go up to the High Court of the Judiciary on the Royal Mile to make myself available for jury duty. On the way up the road I blipped this well-head, just outside Mowbray House.
It was fed by a series of elmwood pipes which ran down the street, back in the day. There are some displayed in the Museum of Edinburgh on the Canongate, beautifully bored and chamfered to fit one another.

Anyway, I wasn't one of the 15 balloted for the jury, I'm delighted to say. Looked like it would be a grim 7 days work for those who were...
