The Pizza Hut Group
(Sorry the pic is blurry)
Every month for half of the year we go roller skating. There’s a group of Jehovah’s Witnesses who rent the Roller Roost in Pottsville, so we pretty much know everyone who’s there. It’s one of my favorite things to do. We skate and play games, talk and just generally have a good time. This Sunday was the first one of the year and some of us did a superhero theme. Not everyone in the picture dressed up, and not all of the people who dressed up are in the picture. I dressed up as Wonder Woman and I wore this big golden cape. Let me tell you, if you’ve never gone roller skating in a cape, you really need to do it at least once in your life time. Lexi dressed up as Batman and my sister went as Superman. My brother was Captain America for the day, Kendra wore a shirt with a few different heroes on it, and we had a Spiderman and a couple more dressed as Batman. So we all went skating because hey, even superheroes need a day out every once in a while right? It was a lot of fun and then it was time to go eat. Every month, after skating we go to Pizza Hut. Last time we actually ended up taking every seat in the building. Sometimes the group is bigger, sometimes it’s smaller but a few things are constants: we are always happy, loud and it’s always very fun. I love our nights at Pizza Hut and my group of friends that make it so great. They’re some of the best people I know, and whenever we get together it’s always great. I believe that friends are pretty much the most important thing in life. No matter what you do, they make it worth doing. Over the years, my friends have changed. New ones came in unexpectedly, ones who I thought would always be there weren’t there anymore and for a little while I felt lost. I was just a young kid looking for friends but too shy to make them. I don’t know what changed, or when it happened, but now I’m not that shy anymore and I have some great people in my life. I really do. So now I can’t wait for next month, when we can do it all again. Well we’re actually going bowling Thursday, so I guess I don’t have to wait that long to see them.
