A day of kitchens & toilets

Well today started unexpectedly with a kitchen fire! It seems that someone in my house left an electric job ring on whilst someone else (presumably) put the plastic cutlery holder full of cutlery from the dish washer on the hob.

I was alerted from upstairs by the smoke alarm and came down to discover a fire which had engulfed a box of nearby cereal and a tea towel. After a second of thinking "oh what shall I do?" I put the fire out with a couple of towels I soaked quickly in the sink. Note to self, buy a fire blanket!

Apart from some burns to my left hand which although sore are not too bad (I remembered my 1st Act training and cooled in water for more than 30 mins, assessed size & dressed. Thanks Jayson for such good training.) I them went to work.

I arrived at Sparrows All Saints Goodmayes nursery slightly later than planned but was cheered by the sight of their brand new children's sized toilets (pictured) what a fantastic difference these will make to the staff & children who until now have been making do with one toilet on the ground floor, one one the second first floor and a further two on the second.
