After more than a decade in this house, we're finally getting the hall wallpapered and painted.

Ian, our decorator, arrived just after 8 this morning and worked right through until after 6. The hall, landing and stairs are all papered and he'll be back tomorrow to paint them in a pale sage. It looks so fresh and clean already. I can't wait to see the finished job.

At last, I won't be embarrassed to open the front door!
