Bran

I have my friends collie dog bran for this week. I helped her train him as a sheepdog. My friend is really busy at work this week so I said I would take him and give him plenty of exercise with our lot of dogs.

I decided to take him to help us get some lambs in for the sale tomorrow to give him a chance to do some sheep work. I kept him close to me to begin with to keep him out of trouble. As the group headed towards the fank some of them headed off at high speed in the wrong direction so I sent my older dog to retrieve them and as she went off to that the main group made a beline to escape. Well it was to be Bran or go around the field again. So I sent Bran off and he did a grand job of getting round them and stopping them. My only dilemma was I couldn't remember what my friend had used as the right and left flanking commands!! (not always away and come-bye). Anyway we muddled through and he knew what was to be done!! All in all a success and he is now content and tired in the dog bed in the kitchen.

All the lambs for the sale are tagged and in the shed ready for the mart tomorrow.
