The Gwesty

This is our home from home, where we stay when we go to Aberystwyth!

I first went to Aberystwyth many years ago with a (now long since ex) boyfriend of mine who used to teach there. The Wonderspouse spent much time there because his (also now ex) fiancee was studying there. We first went there together the year after we were married - partly to exorcise ghosts of past visits, and partly because we wondered what was at the end of the A44 (as you do)!

We picked this place because it had vacancies and a view out onto the sea - and we've been going back there ever since, nearly every year, sometime between March and May, and always to the same room (top floor - the window next to the yellowish building).

It's not a particularly posh hotel, but the room is large (the bathroom extends out and has a window at the back of the building), there is car parking, the price is reasonable enough for a large sea view room, it's always clean, and the breakfasts are very good!

We simply call it "The Gwesty"!
