Big Guy in the tree

Housework Day.....Is there anything worse than cleaning the shower? .....nuff said.

The cages around our feeders keep out the big birds (thinks Sesame Street!) but today I cleaned out a couple of the feeders and emptied the remains beneath the elder tree, hence the arrival of a small conventicle or tidings of magpies (google is a wonderful thing!) They are quite mean to each other and the smaller visitors but their colour is very striking and they are only doing their magpie thing after all.
