Town Hall
We had the first of our Parish Council "surgeries" in the Town Hall this morning. I spent more time talking to the other councillors than to residents but hopefully it will be better attended as time goes on.
The Town Hall is an interesting building, built in 1790 as a market hall. It was later the home of Robert Sharp, a local diarist who ran a school in the building, and eventually became the Town Hall. The clock was added on the occasion of Queen Victoria's Jubilee.
