The Lapwing

Pottered off to Blackness for high tide, but it wasn't a very high one so the waders were all on the rocks quite far away. There were dunlin, oyster catchers, red shanks, a curlew with its head under its wing, and several godwit also with their heads hidden. I managed a couple with a godwit waving its bill around surrounded by many other birds, but decided I liked this lonely lapwing best.

Chatted to a chap there who had a BIG lens and better binoculars. We also saw mergansers but they were well out of reach of my camera.
