Oooh, is it not a good idea to leave the camera on and plugged in to the computer while I eat my tea? Does it not charge it up, like my ipod? You mean I won't be able to take a picture today until I've done some emergency recharging? It had better be that spikey thing that fills up space on the mantlepiece, then. Ouch!
