White on White

Dear Diary,

One of the things I love to do is work in series and what is fascinating me right now is white! Not colored things converted to black and white but white objects photographed in color. This is in my bathroom and I thought it would make a good start.

I wrote a blog post on the idea today as well. You can read that here. Here in Maine we will soon be entering our White Season. It is bitterly cold now but no snow...yet. We did have a small snowfall last week but it's gone so I'll just have to wait for the miraculous transition. One morning, very soon, I will wake up and open the curtains and the world will be transformed. It is such a wonderful moment...pure magic.

The first fall of snow is not only an event, it is a magical event. You go to bed in one kind of a world and wake up in another quite different, and if this is not enchantment then where is it to be found?
