Needing cheering

1. The holiday weekend totally failed to redeem itself after the rain on Saturday/Sunday, adding a thunder storm and heavy rain to the mix in the afternoon.

2. My wrist seems to have taken a turn for the worse. I'd been managing keyboard use quite well since the accident, but things turned uncomfortable today for some reason, with pain shooting up my forearm after even a short while typing. To add to the frustration, my anti-inflammatory tablets ran out and I won't be able to get any more until tomorrow.

3. I'd hoped for a companionable weekend, but the way things turned out, I've been left to my own devices all day today and I'm feeling hard done by.

This was the closest I got today to anything bright or beautiful, all thanks to my friend Alan who called round on Thursday with this floral pick-me-up and a helping hand with shopping for some everyday essentials. Thanks, Alan.
