Art and Anatomy

Fascinating bit of photography last night as I stepped in to cover for a friend who was unwell in order to photograph the latest "Art and Anatomy" session at Edinburgh Medical School. The session included a life model with body painting to show the muscles as they are under the skin - sort of like a medical textbook come to life. After a bit of teaching the students then had a chance to draw their view of the model for themselves. Here artist and visiting lecturer George Donald RSA RSW helps one of the students. As he said, he is used to teaching anatomy to art students so it was a change to be teaching art to anatomy students.
