These flowers frequent our area from late October to February and come in a variety of colours
Frankly I don’t really care much about flowers, a dog thing I expect, but The Boss seems to like to photograph them ashedid and that’s what happened this morning before the sheep (wether) got all stroppy and screwed the scrum.
Oh and a big thanks for yesterday’s “Wind” which did spotlight things thanks to your enthusiastic support.
Today’s story is about Bra’s and has nothing to do with sheep. On the way to Queenstown approaching Cardrona there is a Bra (Brassiere) fence. This is not an ingenious technical break through by NZ farmers to utilise new materials to keep the cows in but is a section of fence where the passing females (humans NOT dogs) have raced out of their cars, ripped their Bra’s off and hung them on the fence. A Braazen action to be sure. Well over the years this has become quite a tourist attraction and there has even been a bit of road work to provide parking space for all the above. It appears that not everyone in the local community considers this a harmless bit of fun and from time to time in the dead of night they have all disappeared.
Matters came to a bit of a head last week when the local property owner who quite liked his famous fence noticed a couple of ladies dressed in hi vis jackets cutting the afore mentioned garments off the fence and stuffing them into a bag in broad daylight. I think that Broad daylight is a bit wider than regular daylight but if in doubt consult Wikipedia. On asking the cutters what they thought they were doing they were told that they were cleaning up the valley. They had been working hard to keep abreast of things it appears.
Bark my words there is going to be trouble that will need to be nippled in the bud. Right!
