Balcony scene
Chapel St as viewed from the balcony of the recently opened Ainscow hotel. Regeneration takes a long time, but at last really good things long planned are happening.
In this view Salford Cathedral and the improving diocesan centre around it. To the left the tower of the 18th century St Phillips church. Near that and out of view the very good Vimto Gardens (Vimto was first made at a works on Chapel St)selling like hot cakes, and the good looking X1 Chapel St. And much more besides - the new and striking New Bailey multi-storey car park opens on Monday, and a walk around the Renaker scheme on Sillivan way - again proving very popular, and well designed and managed = really impressed.
Hopefully even the long and very derelict Lord Nelson pub in the foreground might find a new life one day !
