Go faster stripes

Our 30 year old ironing board snapped in half yesterday. I would have loved to have not replaced it but Mr H (ex Coldstream guards) couldn't have coped so he bought a new one today. I can't believe that they try and make them look sporty and trendy with go faster stripes.

At knitting tonight I was saying that we'd got the broken one as a wedding present, and the youngsters there ( early 30's) couldn't believe that any one would have got an ironing board as a wedding present. I suppose people get more exciting things now, but I wonder how many of them will last 30 years.
