The colours of autumn
After dropping Alex at Orton Pit where he was doing a day of paid conservation management work, I spent the morning report writing. I strolled round the garden at lunchtime and took a few images capturing the autumn colours, which are just about at their best right now. From the top left in a clockwise direction are the red leaves of the bilberry, flowering currant, redcurrant and Sedum 'Autumn Joy', which came from my Mum's garden in Essex.
This afternoon Pete, Ben and I went into town to look at a new cooker for our main kitchen. We fairly rapidly made a decision so it's now ordered and will be delivered on 5th December. That should give us long enough to clear out all the filth from under the old cooker, which has been in place for twenty years. And now we'll have an oven big enough to cook the Christmas turkey!
