What is it with boys and bits of metal?

We've got the plumbers in (again) trying to fix our pellet burner/heating system (again) and they left this box of bits on the kitchen floor. Looks pretty dull to me, but within seconds of the boys being back from school they were in there, making 'constructions', putting bits together etc. Think it's something they're born with.....they are still at it
