Apologies to my Facebookers who read this rant before! ;o)

In 1969 we landed a man on the moon and the whole word gasped and said "wow isn't that amazing..."

In 2014 we landed a probe on a comet hurtling through space at 40,000 mph four billion million miles away, having aimed at the target ten years ago and everyone gasped and said "Look at his shirt how sexist .... and wouldn't the money be better spent elsewhere..."

In 1984 Bob Geldof put together a stellar cast of musicians after being moved so much by the plight of those in famine ravaged Ethiopia ... The whole world gasped and reached deep into their pockets ...

In 2014 Bob Geldof was so moved by the plight of those suffering the horrors of Ebola in Western Africa he decided it was time to do something together. He put together another stellar cast of modern day musicians and everyone poured cynicism upon it ... millions reached deep into their pockets but they were largely ignored ... because that doesn't sell newspapers does it ...

This apparently is progress ....
