Fox Glacier

This morning we walked on the famous Hokitika Beach, with its huge variety of driftwood and gigantic surf. We headed south along the coast, having lunch at Franz Joseph, viewed the glacier from the road. The weather at the time was pretty rainy. We arrived at our B&B in Fox Glacier in late afternoon. We hiked around Lake Matheson and had dinner at the lovely Matheson Cafe. We are staying tonight on a farm, where the hosts have recently saved a motherless baby lamb who is staying inside the house for a few nights. Cute!

Tomorrow we continue south to Waneka.
