The Spirit of St Louis
We have a reasonable amount of Lego, but not much new stuff; it's all years old. We have compartmentalised drawers and a large box, which contain all the pieces I accumulated as a child (once meticulously sorted, though not now) and all the pieces Shirley accumulated as a child (which I think have always just been in a large box).
So today, Rosalie and I built Lego stuff. We built a rather fine house with two stories and a sloping roof, without instructions, which she was very pleased with. Then she said, "I want to build an aeroplane." I remembered a set I was given (30-odd years ago) of the Spirit of St Louis. We found the crumpled instructions, and after a good deal of rummaging we found all the pieces too. This is the result.
You have to admire the design, the craftsmanship, and (above all) the 30-year-old dust on the wings.
