Hydrangea World

It's been a good year for hydrangeas. I bought this one as 'Blue Wave' , a lacecap, but it turned out to be just an ordinary blue hortensia.
It's been in a mixed shrub border for years getting bigger and bigger. I wasn't too thrilled with it but it was useful to have for flower cutting. Last year there were no flowers at all. This year was truly spectacular. It has grown to 5 ft with a 5 ft spread and has been smothered in blue mop heads. As autumn came in, the blue mop heads turned to a gorgeous pale turquoise; it now looks like this.
