Hats off

Much excitement in the Weegie house tonight. The first International Football game against the 'Auld Enemy''in 15 years ! (It may take us another 15 years to recover).

We all gathered to watch and shout at the TV. Although my dad was a 'pro' at this when I was little. Scotland football games were a big event in our house growing up. We were sometimes allowed lemonade on a school night!

Can't say I recognised any of the young players in this team, I grew up with the 'boy' Bremner, King Kenny, and Joe Jordan (who looked fierce without his front false teeth), and wee Gordon Strachan. They were all schoolyard names to us - even the girls knew them.

My little brother was the proud owner of a Scotland Strip complete with No 7 on the back (mum sewed it on).
