Lunchtime

Went into town for lunch with friends and we'd chosen a brasserie on the beach which isn't so busy when it's out of season. Sun came out by the time we'd finished and the surf was up, encouraging a few people to don wetsuits and grab their boards.

Royan has a number of fine beaches like this one, overlooked by some great architecture, and I couldn't help thinking that there aren't many town centres where you can catch some surf in your lunch-hour...
