U-Bahn München: 45/100 Klinikum Großhadern
Munich underground: 45/100 Klinikum Großhadern
Named after the hospital above surface, Klinikum Großhadern underground station is the southern terminus of the blue U6 underground line. That said, it is planned to extend the line one station further, to Martinsried - the resulting line would connect a number of Munich's most important scientific locations, from TUM's research institutes at Garching-Forschungszentrum, through the University of Munich (LMU) and Technical University Munich (TUM) at Universität underground station, and LMU's hospital at Klinikum Großhadern, to LMU's resarch institutes at Martinsried. Klinikum Großhadern underground station was opened in 1993, together with its two northern neighbours Großhadern (my highest rated blip so far) and Haderner Stern (incidentially the second in that ranking).
The university hospital Klinikum Großhadern has a very good reputation worldwide and is a major destination for (predominantly rich Arabic) health tourists.
The station isn't completely straight as you can see, so taking a symmetric shot was impossible.
This was the emptiest station I bliped so far, with not a single person disturbing my circles in more than 15 minutes.
