Life in a Northern Town

By kagsy

It comes to us all...

...around the time I acquired my first iPhone (I blame Apple, can't possibly be anything to do with my age) I started squinting and holding small print at arm's length to read it. Much denial went on but I eventually went to get my eyes tested, and was prescribed glasses for low light and really tiny print.

Several years later I now can't see anything closer than 4 feet away, the food I eat is a vague collection of colours , even the tv is a blur. I have glasses in every room, in the car, in coat pockets but whenever I need them they are not there. Mysteriously, they are often found near to where Mr Kagsy was last reading the paper, but of course he REALLY really doesn't need glasses.

So, after a frustrating trip around town with my glasses perched on the end of my nose, on my head, in my hand, on and off like Lewis Hamilton and Nicole Sherzinger's romance, I finally succumbed to a glasses chain. Although it is made of leather so I feel it is not a chain, and so I really am not getting old and decrepit.

I wonder how long before I lose it.

PS I have a big birthday looming on the horizon and have been promised a new body - woo hoo - hope it includes new eyes! Actually a new camera body. Full frame (which also means new lenses of course). Time to shop.

PPS - I was asked by the Friends of Greenhead Park if they could use some of my shots for some greetings cards to be sold to raise funds at the Christmas fair in the park on 6th December. They have chosen four of my shots - woo hoo!!
