Sophie's Patch - Hamlyn Cottage

Today we visited Sophie's Patch at Mt. Barker. It was a high profile Open Garden owned by Gardening Australia's TV presenter, Sophie Thomson. It is also home to husband Richard and their 5 children. You see the garden featured regularly in her weekly segments. I am sure every blipper in Australia will know this long running programme on the ABC.

There was so much to see and photograph, it was unbelievable. I chose this general view of a wall of their 1847 heritage listed stone cottage (now extended home), featuring an arch which is decorated with old glass conductors from extinct telegraph poles!

The 3 acre property is a work in progress and was formerly a cow paddock. It was such an inspiring property, we may go back again tomorrow.
