A Warm End To A Frozen Desert Morning

It was a lovely day but it started out a bit chilly. Well, actually, downright cold.

My first act was at 6:30. It was to swap out the hummingbird feeder. I then went to reach for the yellow water bowl for a good scrubbing and found the water frozen almost solid! The center rock was immovable.

The thermometer read 35 F. It had obviously dipped well below what I had expected. I will have to watch weather forecasts until Spring since we can now get these huge temperature swings. It was 70 F this afternoon.

It looks like I'll be melting plenty of ice and getting up before dawn to give Zippy and friends a warm breakfast for the next few months.
