summer mornings...

one good thing about summer mornings is that the day breaks early...you wake up to light, not to darkness.

one of my friends from work, Sri has quit his job today to join Teach For India. In near future, he would be teaching poor kids in some remote location on the Western Ghats for a living. In his case, 'living' doesnt mean just earning money. He has been an active member of the Aashayein Foundation but unlike me, instead of going for Sunday breakfast activities, he was teaching kids on Saturdays. Sometimes, it takes just a spark to change your life for ever. It changes the way you think, shakes your beliefs and if you've enough guts (like our worthy friend), changes the way you act! Same happened with Sri about a year ago (do read the link if you've some free time) while he was teaching a bunch of kids on a Saturday. Life won't be same for him this day onwards.

Outside that, he's been my regular adventure partner on treks, travels and bicycling. I've made some of the most incredible trips of my life with him in the past couple of years that I've known him. Then there were trips that were planned but didn't quite materialize the way would've liked. There are not many people who have some serious passion in life; still fewer actually have the balls to follow their passion. I am so glad and happy for Sri that's he is one of those few. Good luck mate - I know you'll do great! You'll be missed! :)
