Mono Monday: fragmented frame

The street this house is in is terribly shabby and mostly uninhabited (I hope, given the state of the buildings). I always like to see the palimpsest of re-used stonework in old buildings. Although of course this re-use over the centuries is one reason why there's almost none of Roman Narbonne left -- its medieval remains have fared very slightly better. But it's human nature to adapt what's available to new uses -- recycling in fact. Also note the oblique corner of the building at ground level-- there are lots of these shaved-off corners in Narbonne's oldest narrow streets. Many have grooves where too-wide carts must have grazed along them as they turned the corner.
