Handbag from Hell

It sits there looking all innocent, but my, what trouble it caused me.

It was my own fault, really, for straying off the path provided in the kit.

I decided to add leatherette to the bottom. The leatherette is difficult to work with as it won't hold a crease.    But the bottom came out fairly well, so I thought it would look slick to have leatherette around the frame.  But then the frame didn't close properly, so off it came.

Then I lengthened the bag body, which meant that the pockets in the lining (added by me, of course) weren't in quite the right place (I'm not remaking the lining).

Finally the handles were sewn on three times.  The first time, I mismeasured.  The second time, they were in the right place but then the wrong place when the bag was lengthened.  The handles were a nuisance to sew; the bottom section, which is folded over a rectangular metal ring, has holes on the back and front which did not align.

So finally it is done, and I'll have to find some reason to use it.
