A blip stop by the canal!

Today wasn't quite so busy as the weekend, that saw mum staying over with us as her new roof wasn't quite finished. We dropped her off at my sisters en route to the christening yesterday!

A trip into Wigan was the order of the day today, as there was a parcel to return, a couple of final bits and bobs needed for Christmas and our forthcoming holiday!
We wiled away an hour over a chicken baguette and a coffee, until mums prescription was ready to collect from the hospital pharmacy.

On our drive home I could see the sun was beginning to go down and the light was lovely, so we took a slightly different route home so I could make a quick stop by the canal to hopefully grab today's blip!

As it turned out, the light was perfect when we stopped, casting it's golden glow over the trees and reflecting them back off the water. I was happy....so off we drove, then typically, we'd gone no farther than 50 metres and as I looked across towards the canal, where I'd just been, and caught magnificently in the sunlight, in full flight were five swans!!!! Ohhh noooo........ you can imagine the rest I'm sure :-(

Having been happy, I ended up disappointed, but once I downloaded the images I had, I was slightly appeased ;-)
