National Day Eve

Tomorrow is National Day here in Oman. Celebrations will be slightly subdued because the Sultan remains in Germany receiving treatment for his illness.

There will be plenty of celebration using the green, red and white colours of the national flag. Cars have been decorated, folks out for a national day meal are dressed in national colours, lots of cheery lights down Sultan Qaboos Street and buildings are all lit up, including the Opera House. It is more tasteful than some.

It's a bit like Xmas at home without the commerce or Santa or overindulgence if you can imagine that.
