The wet weather relented...

... for a blast of sunshine, but not before producing a few impromptu lakes.

By the time the rain stopped, we were ready to set off for a weekend in Cheltenham. The anticipated 4 hour journey took close to six hours. As well as the Friday evening traffic, the last 2 miles of motorway took almost exactly 60 minutes, because of bridge-strengthening (though we didn't spot a single worker on the job). Exceedingly annoying and exhausting.
