Taxi-driver's convention
husband just came back from a conference in Athens
so, how was it? i asked him
well, there was a lot of talking, which turned into shouting, and it almost turned into a brawl at one point
i see. was the hotel comfortable?
yes, it was, maybe a bit too comfortable, i woke up in the middle of the night due to the heat - they'd turned on the central heating system to 28C in the rooms, and all we had on the bed was a polar-weight duvet!
that's hotels for you, i guess. you must have eaten well, right?
yes, the food was plentiful, and it felt like you were eating breakfast lunch and dinner all in one go!
mainly sugary stodge and lots of bacon, i suppose?
and lots of cake!
well, you must have felt like bursting after that!
yes, so i took a long walk after breakfast to get a bit of fresh air before i went into that stuffy room again - i walked 3km through the city centre to Monastiraki, covered the whole area and then walked back again to the conference
i see they've got professional too, with the nametags
well, they had to...
what do you mean?
oh, you dont know what goes in there...
you mean...
well... half the participants brought their womenfolk with them without registering their stay... the hotel staff asked us to show the tags before we went in to have breakfast
oh well, you know your κλάδο well enough, don't you? you've been doing the job for long enough, right?
(big cheesy grin)
