Stillness in Black and White
Dear Diary,
This is the first pond image I've done in black and white but it just seemed so appropriate. The trees are bare, everything was grey, including the sky which foretold the snow we are getting now. Not a breath of a breeze...perfect stillness.
It is easy to think in terms of emotion when you are photographing the sea but I can see the pond too has it's form of emotionality. It may not be as dramatic as the ocean but it is there. Quietly, it is settling into acceptance of the change that is coming. Unlike humans, who try to fight and manipulate nature to suit themselves, the landscape simply accepts whatever nature gives it.
The first step toward change is awareness. The second step is acceptance.
