Our Little Tourist
Everybody that comes to Anna Maria Island in Florida HAS to stop at this sign, and get their picture taken. You just have to.
We took Merrick out to the ocean (gulf) for a couple of hours today. We shoveled and sculpted sand, and waded in the big water.
We returned later for the sunset. Hundreds of seagulls welcomed us, although they seemed to be huddled around a couple. I went up and talked to the 45-ish woman.
"What do you do to attract the gulls?"
"Well, I do feed them after the sun goes down, but I talk to them, too."
"You talk to them?"
"Yeah, I know a few of them by name. It's interesting, during the day...the ones I know protect me from the other ones. So, I never have to worry about any of them...like...stealing a sandwich out of my hand."
"Um...ah...nice talking to you Ma'am."
It takes all kinds, I guess.
See the crazy seagull horde, along with some peacocks and sunsets on my FLICKR PAGE.
